Woldwyrds

Continuing on with my wolds I've added the Woldwyrds to what I've finished painting. I'm trying to keep the red as an identifying mark through the whole army. I was a little concerned about the giant red jewel of the 'wyrds but I think I like the effect.

Shifting Stones

As expected, painting the Shifting Stones was a breeze. In one evening I finished two units and added 42 points to my painted total. It almost feels like cheating.

Totem Hunter

So I was going for a "hunter" look with the Totem Hunter and tried to stay with the leathers. It feels like an accident that he ended up looking as good as he does as I had no clue what I was doing.

Converted Warpwolf - Now with Paint

Defenstrator converted a warpwolf for me so that I'd have some difference between the two I wanted to field. The naked conversion was posted here. And now I've painted it. It look s a bit different from my other warpwolf. One, because there was about a year difference in the painting and two, because I ran out of brown ink and Games Workshop doesn't make that colour anymore.

Thralls and Alexia

These are some more in depth shots of Alexia, along with two Thrall Warriors. I use her infrquently with my Cygnar but they are a staple in my Merc army. So much so that one friend calls it the Alexia army, that just happens to have a warcaster in it as well. I have to admit, she really is almost that good.

Harriers and Shredders

These are my lesser warbeasts for Legion, 4 Harriers and 4 Shredders. You may note that in the picture there are only three Harriers. That's because one fell to the floor seconds before I was about to take the photo, breaking off both wings and chipping him. He's all fixed now though.

We've been doing stuff (but at least my Terpah is done).

It's been way too long since we posted on the blog. We have been doing stuff. Really. Games have been played and models painted. But life has been busy so things were neglected. Hopefully we can get back on track and get some more games posted. In the meantime you can see how I spent some of my time.

My Legion hasn't been getting a whole lot of love unfortunately. I'm devoted to getting my Warmachine Merc army fully completed and that's been taking the bulk of my time not devoted to terrain or video games. The Teraph jumped in just because I really wanted to paint the model. While only a so-so beast I think the model is one of the best in the whole Hordes range and really needed to get him all done up.

Kaya, the Wildborn

I finished Kaya this week, and with her done the original box set of my Circle forces is finished. Now I move on to the Wolves of Orborus.

Warpwolf

The Argus took forever and the Warpwolf took two weeks... Go figure. Anyway, like the Argus, I was trying to get a somewhat natural look with the colours and such. I discovered that Warpwolves have many more spikes than I was expecting and they take longer to paint than I thought. It's hard to find a spot to hold it while getting in all the little bits.

After about a year I've finally managed to actually get a model finished. Two models actually.

I was really happy with the way their fur turned out when I got it done. Just the right colour and it had the definition that I was going for. Then they sat for a long time while I thought about what to do with their armour. I ended up just doing a green wash over the Boltgun Metal that I had laid down on the plates. I had to do some extra shading on the faces (especially the one where the head was howling) but I'm pleased with how it all worked out.

Now on to the Warpwolf.
